The Government of India restored this visa on March 30, 2021, for foreign nationals seeking specialised medical care in recognised hospitals across India. The e-Medical Visa is an electronic travel authorisation sent to your email after approval. It is strictly for medical treatment and cannot be used for tourism, work, or surrogacy. To qualify, you must be a citizen of an eligible country and have medical advice confirming the need for treatment in India. Treatment must be at a licensed medical institution. This visa is valid for 60 days from arrival and allows triple entry. You may apply for it up to two times per year. You need a valid passport, a recent photo, and a medical invitation letter. Fees are paid online and are non-refundable. Once approved, carry your visa copy and enter India through approved airports or seaports.
