Are you eligible?
Travellers holding a valid passport from one of the eligible countries for Indian e-Medical visa can apply. This eVisa is not valid for medical attendants accompanying patients to India or for individuals visiting the country for purposes other than receiving medical treatment.
Important Points to Remember
- Applicants must obtain medical treatment from a reputed and recognised hospital or medical institution in India.
- This e-Visa is only valid for short-term medical visits and does not permit long-term stays.
- Travellers wishing to accompany the patients holding an Indian e-Medical visa must apply for a e-Medical Attendant visa instead (if eligible).
Documents Required for Indian e-Medical Visa
- Passport Bio Page Scan: Upload a legible scan of your passport bio page showing important details such as MRZ code.
- Applicant Photograph: A recent, high-quality photo of the applicant is required. Cropped or edited images are not accepted.
- System-Generated Medical Invitation Letter: Must be issued by a recognised Indian medical institution or a hospital where the applicant will receive medical treatment.
Application Process for Indian e-Medical Visa
Fill out the Form
Choose “Indian e-Medical visa” as your visa type, and fill out the application form with your passport, travel and hospital details.
Review & Upload Documents
Review each entered detail carefully to prevent processing delays and then upload all the required documents.
Complete Payment
Pay the e-Visa fee securely using one of the available payment options, including a credit and debit card.
Receive e-Visa Approval
Your approved e-Visa will be sent to your registered email address. Download it and take a print to present it at immigration check upon arrival.

You can retry uploading your documents using a stable internet connection, if you’re still unable to upload them, contact the Indian e-Visa support for assistance.
Indian e-Medical Visa Validity
- Validity Period:365 days from the date of first entry on this eVisa.
- Stay Duration: The duration of stay is up to 180 days.
- Entry Type: Multiple entry is allowed within the e-Visa validity period.
Note: The visa will be stamped on your passport at the time of arrival in India.

Entry ports
Travellers holding an Indian e-Visa are required to enter the country through designated Indian ports of entry only, to comply with Indian immigration rules. If travellers wish to depart from India, they can do so from any of the authorised Indian Immigration Check Posts.
