Steps to Be Taken Afterwards
Once you’ve found your country on the list, begin filling out the online application form. Simply upload your passport bio page scan and digital photo along with the other additional documents for the India e-Tourist Visa based on your purpose of visit, then pay the e-Visa fee and receive your e-Visa approval via email before you arrive in India.
Do not forget to take a printed copy of your approved e-Visa as it is requested by the immigration officials upon your entry into India.
Do I need to pay the e-Visa fee in person?
No. The visa fee payment is completed entirely online, just like the rest
of the application. Payment
through credit/debit cards, cryptocurrency and PayPal is accepted. For bank transfer payments, you can
contact the India e-Visa support for assistance.
Can My Visa Still Get Rejected If I’m Eligible?
Only being eligible doesn’t mean an e-Visa is guaranteed. While the approval rate is quite high as you get expert guidance and support during each step of your application, the final approval still depends on the accuracy and completeness of your application.
Steps to follow to ensure your e-Visa is approved in one go:
- The applicant’s passport must be valid for at least 6 months from your arrival in India.
- Provide the applicant’s correct details in the application form. Do not simply fill in any estimated or random details.
- Upload clear and legible document scans. Screenshots or cropped scans are not accepted.
- Check your email regularly to track your application status and respond promptly for any additional requests.
What if Your Country is Not on the Eligible Country List?
If you can’t find your country on the eligible countries list, you may be eligible to apply for a regular visa. Firstly, complete the India regular visa form online, take a print out of it and bring it to the Indian Visa Application Center or at Indian Mission along with other necessary photos and documents. Handwritten applications will not be accepted.
What Keeps You Eligible During Your Visit to India?
Being a citizen of an eligible country lets you apply for an e-Visa and visit India legally but maintaining that eligibility throughout your trip makes your trip authorised and entirely compliant.
Keep these things in mind while in India:
- Your travel purpose must be tourism, family visits and other approved purposes.
- Keep your passport copy with you while travelling in India for verification purposes during hotel check-ins, domestic travel and visits to certain tourist sites.
- Engaging in paid work or employment in India is prohibited.
- You must leave India on or before the day your e-Visa expires.
