Documents Required for Indian e-Visa

Required Documents:

1. Letter from the organisation on its letterhead

Copy of a letter issued by the organisation concerned on its official letterhead confirming the applicant’s purpose of visit to India with other relevant information.

Required Documents:

1. Institute / Organisation / Hospital Letter on Letterhead

A valid scanned copy of a letter from the institute, organisation, or hospital concerned on its official letterhead. It should include details of the short-term course or programme.

Attach a digital scan of a valid business card, confirming the applicant’s business identity and professional affiliation.

A copy of a business invitation letter that must be issued by an Indian firm, organisation, or company on its official letterhead.

The letter must confirm the purpose of the applicant’s visit to India.

An official approval document from the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, confirming the applicant’s sports-related visit to India.

An official invitation Letter to foreign sports teams and sports persons to visit India by the concerned Sports Federation or Association in India.

Upload a valid, sponsoring Letter from the Indian Shipping Agent or a Foreign Shipping Agent stationed in India, supporting the applicant’s visit to join the vessel in India.

A valid scanned copy of the Continuous Discharge Certificate (CDC) of the Seamen is required.

It must show details such as the applicant’s name, CDC number and nationality.

A clear copy of the sanction order under GIAN issued by the National Coordinating Institute, IIT Kharagpur, supporting the applicant’s participation in the GIAN programme.

Provide an invitation letter from a host Indian institute or to a foreign faculty member under the GIAN initiative. Ensure the letter contains course details, expert's financial entitlements (honorarium, travel, and hospitality), and dates.

A letter of invitation from the event organiser confirming the applicant’s participation in the conference, seminar or workshop in India.

A Political clearance issued by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Government of India, confirming that the event has received political clearance.

Upload any one of the following documents:

1. Voter ID Card

OR

2. Indian Passport 

Important:

• The document must belong to the applicant's spouse or parent who is an Indian citizen.
• Parent’s or spouse’s names and photos must be clearly visible.

A clear copy of the cancelled or surrendered Indian passport, along with the surrender certificate, for applicants of Indian origin who surrendered their Indian passport in or after 2010.

Upload a copy of the OCI card of a parent or a spouse, in the case of those who hold a valid OCI card.

Details such as parents’ or spouse’s name and nationality must be easily readable

Upload any one of the following documents: 

1. Birth Certificate

OR

2. Marriage Certificate

Point to Note:

• Upload the document which applies to your case.
• The document should include details such as the applicant’s name and the parent's or spouse's name (as applicable).

A completed Employer’s detail proforma providing information about the applicant’s current employer, such as the employer’s name and contact details of the company.

A dispatch letter issued by the current employer in support of the applicant’s visit to India. The letter should reflect information such as the applicant’s name and the purpose of the visit.
