India e-Miscellaneous Visa
The India e-Miscellaneous Visa is an electronic visa category to facilitate entry into India for individuals who have a recognised personal or family connection to India but do not hold Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) status.
This eVisa allows eligible individuals to apply online and receive an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) before travelling, without applying through traditional visa processes.
Who Can Apply for the India e-Miscellaneous Visa?
The India e-Miscellaneous Visa is available to the following applicants:
- Persons of Indian Origin who are not in possession of an OCI card, and
- Spouse and/or children of:
- an Indian citizen, or
- a Person of Indian Origin, or
- an OCI cardholder (Other than those registered as OCI Cardholder)
This visa is intended to support entry for individuals with close personal or family ties to India, where OCI registration is not held.
What Documents Are Needed for the India e-Miscellaneous Visa?
- Applicant’s passport bio page scan.
- Applicant’s digital photo with no image modifications or reflections.
- Clear scan of any one of the following documents belonging to an
Indian citizen:
- Voter ID card of a parent or a spouse
- Indian Passport of parent or a spouse
OR
- A cancelled or a surrendered Indian passport along with a surrender certificate.
- Scanned copy of OCI card of a spouse or a parent (in case of those who hold a valid OCI card).
- A birth or marriage certificate copy, whatever applies.

Validity and Entry Conditions
Validity: 3 months from the date of first entry into India
Entries: Multiple entry
Stay Duration: Issued with a validity of 3 months, calculated from the date of first entry into India.
Key entry conditions include:
- All entries must occur within the visa’s validity timeframe.
- The visa is issued electronically, and the physical visa stamp is placed in the passport upon arrival at an Indian immigration checkpoint.
Applicants should ensure that their travel plans align with the validity and entry conditions stated on the ETA.

Complete Online Application
Fill the application form with correct information and make sure to choose “Indian e-Miscellaneous visa” type from the available e-Visa categories.
Pay the eVisa Fee
Submit the applicable eVisa fee online using a credit card, debit card, or other supported payment methods.
Receive ETA
Once the application is approved, the Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) is sent to the registered email address.
Travel to India
Print both digital and printed copies of the ETA and present it at the immigration checkpoint in India.
