What Is the India e-Transit Visa?
The India e-Transit Visa allows a foreign national to enter India for the sole purpose of transit while travelling onward to another country. The final destination must be outside India.

The e-Transit Visa cannot be used for sightseeing, employment, business activities, or extended stays in India.

Conditions of the e-Transit Visa
The India e-Transit Visa is subject to specific limitations:
Transit stays cannot be extended beyond 3 days per visit.
Extensions are permitted only in extreme emergencies, such as strikes, traffic disruption, inclement weather, or illness.
The visa cannot be used for work or business, regardless of the duration of stay.
